Africa still matters, after all

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was  on the continent for an African tour in Egypt, Uganda and Ethiopia – at the same time, his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron visited three former colonies in West and Central Africa. 

And now, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel next month to South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, in what many say is to counter a Russian charm offensive.
